But we all share one goal: to improve the world responsibly and safely.The Telemetry Systems Sustaining Engineer is responsible for the lifecycle management of all assets in an assigned service area. Specifically, the Sustaining Engineer is responsible for the Reliability Engineering for Maintenance and the Asset Condition Monitoring Domain. The Sustaining Engineers work side-by-side with operations Service Area Managers, Technical Leads, and operators and receive day-to-day leadership and guidance from their Asset Planners. As part of the condition monitoring process, Sustaining Engineers will focus on the current and future health of the systems and work closely with the Asset Planners to develop long-term sustaining strategies for each system. These strategies will focus on increasing system reliability, availability, maintainability, and redundancy; improving sparing; obtaining advanced training; coordinating system upgrades; planning modernization efforts; and increasing data pathways. Sustaining engineer will be involved in all aspects of Asset Lifecycle from development and procurement, initial fielding and commissioning, ongoing sustainment and upgrades, testing, maintenance, overhauls, life-cycle extensions, and decommissioning/replacement.The Sustaining Engineer will be working on various Telemetry Systems. Competitive candidates will have experience working on engineering development projects, performing maintenance and sustainment tasks, and have thorough experience in configuration control processes. Competitive candidates will also have experience working with telemetry systems including the antennas, control systems, receiving and distribution systems, and processing systems.
Performs all activities associated with the design, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration management of telemetry systems.
Analyze customer requirements and translate them into a design. Create prototypes. Perform internal testing of TM systems. Respond to and resolve discrepancies against documented requirements.
Position is Full-Time (8-5, M-F) On-Site at Wallops Flight Facility VA
Some travel to support upgrades, acceptance testing, and other engineering activities is anticipated.
Education:
BS in engineering or other related field and 2 years of related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate ability to generate requirements, prepare engineering drawings, develop FMEA products and prepare test procedures.
Security:
Must be US Citizen and able to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
