Job DescriptionHII Mission Technologies is ranked #1 on Forbes List for Defense Contractors and ranked #11 Best Large Employers 2021-2022 Position SummaryWe are seeking an RF Wireless Engineer to provide spectrum engineering support to our government customer The Department of Defense Chief Information Office, and various Federal, DoD, and commercial satellite customers. Under supervision of senior engineers the Radio Frequency Engineer is responsible for conducting technical projects in support of the design, development, and testing of radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products. Includes antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters and receivers. Supports more senior engineers by performing analyses to determine the potential for radio frequency interference (RFI) between various geostationary and non-geostationary satellite systems. Supports senior technical personnel and project managers within own organization in various technical activities related to spectrum support for satellite systems. Receives immediate supervision from management as well as technical guidance and training from the more experienced technical staff.HII's expertise in wireless communication includes 50+ years of performing RF Engineering for DoD, gov. agencies, and commercially both in the US and overseas, analyzing, and formatting spectrum data, including frequency assignment, spectrum certification, LiDAR, and other geo-referenced data. Our Scientists and Engineers support diverse tasks such as spectrum forensics and deconfliction, testing for coverage amid urban clutter, and antenna site planning. HII's RESED team offers opportunities from projects supporting international satellite coordination in space to countering IEDs. - May provide technical guidance and oversight to lower level technical staff.
- Receives technical guidance and training from more experienced technical staff. Plans, results, and work products are reviewed periodically by senior technical staff.
- Prepares and reviews input to technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings.
- Identifies opportunities for follow-on tasking for current projects; develops related briefings, specific project proposals, and works through appropriate channels to schedule presentation of these briefings and proposals to prospective customers.
- Provides input and support to larger intra-organizational proposal development efforts.
- Complies with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties.
- May provide recommendations for improvements to existing quality systems or applicable company procedures and guidelines.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. Degree(s) must be in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline.
- In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering principles, methods, and techniques in area of expertise.
- Effective customer and organizational level communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- An active U.S. Secret security clearance is required
- Advanced knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.
- Master's Degree
