Job Summary

Overview:

Maximus seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior DOD Security Control Assessor (SCA) to join our DOD team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting and coordinating security control assessments of information systems in accordance with DOD policies and guidelines. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in DOD information assurance policies and procedures, and possess strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct security control assessments of information systems in accordance with DOD policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with system owners, program managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that security controls are implemented and operating effectively.
  • Analyze and evaluate security controls to determine their effectiveness and identify potential vulnerabilities or weaknesses.
  • Prepare and submit security assessment reports to DOD authorities, detailing the results of security assessments and making recommendations for remediation.
  • Provide guidance and training to system owners and other stakeholders on security control assessment procedures and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with DOD security policies and guidelines and provide recommendations for improvement to ensure compliance with current regulations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of security plans, policies, and procedures for information systems.
  • Review and provide input on system security documentation, including security plans, contingency plans, and incident response plans.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • DOD 8570 IAT level II (example: Security + CE, GSEC, SSCP )
  • 5 or more years of experience in information security, with at least 7 years of experience in DOD information assurance policies and procedures.
  • 5 or more years of e xperience with security control assessment methodologies and tools.
  • 5 or more years of experience of i n-depth knowledge of DOD security policies and guidelines, including RMF, JSIG, and NIST SP 800-53.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in Cloud security, Zero Trust, ICAM, and Data management
  • Worked with or in US Intelligence (IC) agencies and Defense Industry Base (DIB)
  • Worked with or managed eMASS and accreditation packages
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
