WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Senior Business Architect, you’ll apply your analytic, communications and creative skills to define and model business capabilities, value streams, operating models, operational scenariosand business processes. You’ll work with business leaders and subject matter experts to assess the maturity and performance of business capabilities and propose new initiatives to resolve pain points and leverage opportunities. You’ll partner with business leaders, product teams, and enterprise architects to ensure that transformation initiatives are driven by business needs, prioritiesand vision. You’ll use elements of the Business Architecture Guild’s BIZBOK frameworkto tell stories, paint picturesand leverage data to informbusiness strategiesand investment decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategy Development – Support business strategy development,identify new business capability and technology-driven opportunities and ensure alignment of IT strategy. Define business and operating models to exploit new opportunities and realize strategic goals and objectives.
  • Business Architecture Development – Create and maintainbusiness architecture artifacts depicting current, target, and interim states of business operations. Work with capability owners and subject matter experts to identify, analyzeand prioritize pain points and opportunities. Define a future state vision for business operations that supports and aligns with business strategies, goals, and objectives. Oversee the publishing and maintenance of business architecture work products in the architecture repository, ensuring that they are organized, accurateand accessible.
  • Business Process Modeling and Improvement – Model and assess business processes to support enterprise transformation and solution development initiatives. Facilitate initiatives focused on process improvement and optimization.
  • Portfolio Planning – Provide input to product and enterprise roadmaps. Assess project proposals for business architecture impacts in support of annual planning, resource estimationand alignment with strategy and enterprise architecture.
  • Governance – Lead peer reviews and represent business architecturein briefings to the Architecture Review Board. Represent business architecture in the drafting of RFIs/RFPs and in the evaluation and scoringof vendor proposals.
  • Practice Development – Lead the extension and enhancement ofbusiness architecture approaches, methods, templatesand engagement models. Research emerging business strategy and architecture practices to determine their relevancy and fit for the organization. Ensure the alignment and integration of business architecture practiceswith those of other architecture domains andSDLC disciplines. Lead the development of business architecture communications / education materiel for use withstakeholders and architecture / SDLC partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 5 years Experience in the Architecture Domain.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8 years of experience in Business Architecture or related discipline.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others so that project objectives are met in a timely manner.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with business and technical leaders, subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Experience in tailoring and applying business architecture frameworks, methods and tools.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal/relationship management, analytical, communications (written and verbal) and collaboration.
  • Business architecture certification, CBA ® or similar certification.
  • Experience with the BIZBOK framework and methods.
  • Experience with Orbus iServer365 or similar architecture modeling tools.

Licenses/Certifications
  • Certified System Architect Upon Hire Preferred
