Job Description:

Responsible for performing as a Senior Database Base Analyst for Microsoft SQL solutions in both NIPR and SIPR, QA and production environments

Responsibilities:

Participates in the design, maintenance, enhancement, coding, and administration of relational databasesPerforms day-to-day SQL administration; maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, ensuring data availabilityPerforms Database Backup and Recovery functions as neededInstalls SQL SW, Instances and perform upgrades and patching as neededWrites/maintains SQL scripts and processes as neededCreates indexes to enhance performanceDesigns/implements data transfer processes needed to support upgrades or movement to from different physical/virtual Machine/OSAuthors/maintains System Security Plans, white papers and change management proposals, SOPsCreates, manages and performs troubleshooting Windows Clustering and SQL Server high-availability solutionsCreates and monitors SQL Server Policy ObjectsAnalyzes and determines information needs and elements, data relationships and attributes, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.Coordinates new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure.Monitors Ticketing System queue for DBA assignmentsParticipates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.Assignments may include design of data dictionaries, database structure and layout, installing, upgrading, and managing database applications.May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced Analysts.Stay current on vendors' best security practices in relation to organizational requirements.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.Monitors SQL Event Logs and use to identify/troubleshoot issuesCreating and managing SQL Server Maintenance Plans for routine tasks and backup solutions as well as ability to create, troubleshoot and monitor SQL Server Agent jobsReviews database jobs, backup logs, user connections and system memoryReviews performance information for SQL instancesCompletes STIG Checklists for SQL servers

Education:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience required.Required Qualifications:

Minimum 8-10 years of directly related experience in Systems or Bachelor of Science in IT Discipline and 6 years' experience.Experience with Microsoft SQL Server in Microsoft clusters.Hands-on STIG/SCAP experience required.Active DOD Secret clearance required; SSBI requiredCurrent Security+ certification required.

Microsoft SQL 2012+ and MySQL administrationMicrosoft Operating Systems (Windows Server 2008/2012, Windows 10 SHB, etc.) a plusT-SQL scripting knowledgePowerShell a plusUnderstanding of IT Security best practices to meet DOD STIGs
