Job Title: Senior General Ledger AccountantLocation: RemoteAbout This Role:The General Ledger Accountant II will report to the Manager, General Ledger and will work closely with the Corporate International team. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment. You should have the ability to interact effectively with cross functional teams, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Local International teams. We are looking for someone who has excellent problem-solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment to support our continued success and growth.What You'll Do:- Own/manage the entire monthly close process for certain smaller entities, including reviewing monthly close packages prepared by local accountants and entering the financial information into the corporate ledger (Workday)
- Prepare analysis for accruals needed in the month-end close
- Ensure that transactions are reflected on the proper legal entity and in the correct currency
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for all Balance Sheet accounts and significant Income Statement accounts
- Prepare monthly financial statement variance explanations for both corporate and international balances
- Reconciling intercompany balances on a monthly basis, researching any open issues
- Assisting with analysis of foreign currency gain / loss
- Manage policy and compliance process for assigned areas; actively seek process improvements and propose process changes
- Prepare Audit support schedules for the corporate audit
- Assist staff with ad-hoc requests and data gathering
- Provide support for Statutory Audits of international entities
- BS in Accounting from an accredited university and 2-3 years of professional Accounting experience
- Experience applying US GAAP standards and compiling financial statements
- Understanding of foreign currency transactions
- Understanding of intercompany transactions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate details of prepared financial information
- Excellent computer skills and experience with Excel functions/formulas and pivot tables
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
- Detail oriented self-starter willing to take ownership to develop and implement process enhancements & business solutions
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently
- Organizational, prioritization and time management skills are essential
