About This Opportunity Responsibilities The Distribution Operations team is responsible for managing the status quo business as well as moving the strategic needle to transform our supply chain capabilities to adapt to the speed of the customer. This leader will be responsible to manage daily operations, from securing product to moving it across the first/ middle/ last mile, from vendor to distribution node to store or customer, with focus on On-Time and In-Full, ensuring sufficient capacity for storage and throughput and continuous improvement. This is a complex leadership role, requiring the leader to balance flawless daily execution with the long-term development of a team. The role requires a detailed understanding and ability to balance every operational component of a facility - from employee needs to IT, from process technology to process improvement. A successful executive will be able to provide strong vision and direction for the team while fostering bottoms up input and participation in process improvement from all levels of the organization. This leader will lead a team that is on the very front lines of getting product to the customer on-time and in-full, which is a critical differentiator and one of the most essential functions within Logistics. There is no dearth of challenges - Distribution Center Operations, where process and problem solving drive our results; Quality Management, which influences and maintains our brand; or overall Distribution Center Productivity, where we’re always analyzing and recalibrating how to best support our people, process and technology to support an ever-evolving business. The Director (or General Manager) is responsible for guiding and developing leadership by motivating, mentoring, and coaching. They are responsible for engaging all Inventory Nodes in the Middle and Last Mile to maintain the highest levels of safety, production, cost, quality and service levels while ensuring a positive employee/ customer experience. As Director/ General Manager, you will be a inclusive servant leader: diving in, rolling up your sleeves, support the growth and development of the team, and ensure its success KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:  Own and deliver the network operational budget.  Establish and meet cost and service level KPIs for the building.  Set clear goals for safety, customer experience and productivity and successfully deliver on them. Actively lead with safety, service, quality and cost at the forefront of all decision making.  Responsible for developing and leading a high functioning team that is connected to our vision by attracting and hiring top talent. Build the operational culture and passionately develop the team. Build strong teams and create programs/plans to continuously improve all metrics across departments.  Support scalable growth of the company by developing and enabling the success of each member of the site leadership team.  Re-profile building, product flow, pick-sequence, equipment, shift schedules and headcount plans to address growth in volume and changing assortment.  Remove waste from operations processes employing Lean/Six Sigma practices.  Benchmark best-in-class practices to create/drive a culture of continuous improvement and empower associates to propose and implement solutions to decrease costs and improve efficiency.  Drive strategic labor planning and forecasting across the building ensuring alignment to variable cost plans.  Develop and administer Standard Operating Practices, Description of Operations, Training Protocols. Develop and administer operational procedures, precisely executing activities for shipments, handling and disposition of products, and keeping the highest standards of inventory accuracy.  Develop and manage effective partnerships with merchants, stores and franchisees to understand weekly and daily targets and establish and execute clear plans and roadmaps to consistently meet target goals.  Be well versed in the order flow process and all systems involved in end to end store/ customer order fulfillment.  Be able to lead teams through complex problems by breaking down problems into clear and actionable items.  Be data savvy/ self-sufficient and build the team’s capability to identify underlying patterns/ operational bottlenecks with data.  Coordinate with senior Supply Chain leaders to develop transformation and conversion strategies, support business cases, and write/ own narratives for activating the future operating model.  Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ensure all individual project requirements stitch together in a way that drives expected outcomes.  Drive cross-functional alignment, prioritization, and coordination of key program priorities and deliverables across process teams, product teams, engineering, operations.  Ability to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including mezzanine platforms, conveyor crossovers.  Ability to read and interpret necessary policies and procedures to operate all DC systems.  Balance mentoring and developing new leaders while achieving customer and cost metrics.  Successfully leverage Lean/Six Sigma tools and concepts to drive process improvement and associate engagement.  Develop proficiency in operations and skill functionality to establish, spread and teach the 7-Eleven supply chain operations culture.  Drive the quality of individual standard work to ensure critical quality and safety steps are being followed at every point of the omnichannel distribution/ fulfillment process. Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelors, Masters prefered YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 10+ years YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 5+ years SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:  Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.  10+ years of experience in a related field in the Retail, Ecommerce, Manufacturing or Automotive, with direct network level P&L responsibility that is in line with the scope of this role.  Proven track record of exceptional leadership and employee development.  Experience developing budgets, managing P&L, forecasting staffing needs, analyzing financial/operational data and translate data into actionable information to drive results.  Forward-thinker with sharp analytic skills and the ability to articulate point of view, develop systems/plans, and improve processes across the organization.  Have a positive, “can-do” attitude and excellent interpersonal skills with a strong passion for analyzing and solving hard problems with data.  Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner.  The ability to lead and execute through Lean/ Six Sigma, and to influence peers to adopt these best practices across the network.  Successful history of continually implementing improvement initiatives, specifically Lean/ Six Sigma practices, in a plant or distribution environment.  Customer focused attitude to improving throughput by leveraging critical support staff (Finance, HR, IT, Engineering, Facilities & Maintenance, Network Planning) to continuously move the needle on operational efficiency.  Good reasoning, conflict management and strong analytical approach to problem-solving with a metrics-driven focus on root cause and frugality without sacrificing safety or customer satisfaction.  Constantly thinks outside the box; lead others to success and drive change to influence others in order to achieve results.  Knowledge of warehouse management systems including robotics, high-speed conveyor systems and other highly automated equipment.  Effective management of an operation comprising both salaried and hourly staff of at least 300+ people; the ability to effectively teach, lead and manage within all areas of the operation and coach staff beyond current potential.  Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.  Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization
