We are seeking Platform Engineers who are passionate about creating and supporting DevOps tools with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.General Responsibilities:

Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios

Continuously improve platform engineering practices and proactively identify risks and execute strategies that eliminate or mitigate those risks

Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of your platform solutions

Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity

Directly and indirectly lead a teams of engineers and people leaders to build strategy for each platform and drive being Well Managed, the core goal at Capital One

Participate in talent and succession planning, encourage innovation, implement cutting-edge technologies, elevate inclusion, offer out of the box thinking, celebrate teamwork, self-organization and diversity

Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Attack complex business opportunities by working with LOB stakeholders, leadership and your teams

Collaborate on bigger initiatives to represent their impacts on your platforms and guide decision makers

Drive decommissioning of legacy systems

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

At least 8 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)

At least 6 years of experience with AWS

At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to influence senior business and product stakeholders (Director+) on strategy and roadmaps

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering

At least 1 year of experience in the financial or tech industry

At least 5 years of experience managing relationships with Business or Product stakeholders, architects and external partners

At least 4 years of experience leading a team within an agile environment

At least 4 years of experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service

At least 4 years of experience with MS SharePoint & MS Power Platform, Confluence or DocuSign

At least 4 years of experience with platform selection and implementation at the enterprise level
