Senior Portfolio Manager to join our team to support the Army Analysis/Financial Management business unit to provide portfolio and program management support in the National Capital Region (NCR). Your day-to-day work will include: - Interacting with federal client counterparts in an organized and knowledgeable manner, and building solid relationships with clients
- Effectively communicating with senior government clients, participate in and lead discussions, confidently discuss project status, and propose relevant and effective solutions.
- Leading or assisting client personnel and staff in short- and long-term planning efforts, team planning discussions, prioritization and assisting in daily standups
- Supporting requirements gathering sessions with clients, analyze and document system requirements, assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation.
- Aligning project portfolio with business strategies, target architecture, and budget
- Identifying improvement in processes for translating business strategy into technology decisions
- Identifying opportunities to improve PMO efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
- Providing effective management of risks and issues at the portfolio, program, and project levels
- Providing project management support to a software development program
- Interacting and working with operational groups across the organization
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
At a minimum you should have: - 15+ years of experience working on projects in a large organization in both the public and private sectors, with special focus in implementing, managing, and maturing Army Financial management.
- Experience managing large, complex, cross-functional IT initiatives utilizing a structured project management methodology and formal tools/approaches.
- Must be able to analyze, understand, and communicate complex ideas across a varied audience (including C-Level executives)
- Bachelor's degree in Business/IT and a master's degree
- PMP/Prince 2 certification preferred.
- Agile/Scrum master certification a plus.
- SAFe certification preferred (i.e., Lean Portfolio Management).
- Active Secret Clearance
- Strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Agile project experience
- ServiceNow experience is desirable.
