This position is central to managing our Teleport Services Media products which consists of products and service solutions that use the IntelsatOne teleport services (satellite uplink, satellite downlink, teleport colocation for customer servers) and terrestrial fiber network. These services transport video, audio and associated data between media customers, Intelsat teleports, key media hubs and partner networks as part of integrated managed solutions. These products and services are used to provide solutions for our customers to connect to the vast Intelsat satellite network. This role is responsible for making sure these products meet the needs of Intelsat's customers and is a crucial linchpin between customers/sales and numerous internal groups within the organization. It ensures that the product line is meeting the requirements and needs of existing and targeted customers and delivering against targeted corporate-level performance benchmarks.
Are you up to the challenge?- Champion Managed Media Service Offerings: Lead management and execution of competitive strategies for Managed Media Services product offerings to generate growth and new revenue streams from Intelsat's existing customers and articulate these strategies via product and go-to-market plans to appropriate internal and external forums.
- Develop business models: Develop customer managed services outsourcing business model that includes terrestrial transport services in addition to traditional teleport based media uplink services to Intelsat satellites.
- Bring content to the satellites: Continue to develop our network through terrestrial expansion and partnerships to increase the IntelsatOne network reach.
- Sales Support: Provide commercial and operational support to Sales and Customer Solutions on Managed Media Services customer opportunities including liaison with Business Management and Network Engineering to evaluate and propose commercial strategy including solution architecture, messaging, pricing, and value proposition. Provide continuing education for Customer Solutions and Sales including updates to the IntelsatOne network.
- Product and Portfolio Management: Manage the product lifecycle, pricing, terms and conditions, and deployment of terrestrial connectivity services based on demand and competitive market intelligence.
- Coordinate with internal teams: Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to understand our teleport and fiber infrastructure. This will include continued buildout of Intelsat capabilities, understanding costs for the infrastructure, and being able to position our services to our current and future customers.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline with at least ten years of hands-on Product Management experience in a business-to-business environment. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education and experience requirement).
- Satellite teleport uplink, downlink, colocation, and fiber solutions product management experience.
- Experience in the Media industry working with large customers who use different technologies including satellite to distribute their content
- Technical proficiency to successfully collaborate with Engineering and Operations to apply solutions to customer needs.
- Deep knowledge of teleport infrastructure and what it takes to provide teleport solutions to large media customers.
- Ability to develop terrestrial transport solutions and partner with additional terrestrial network technology providers including fiber, IP and cloud technologies.
- Solid understanding of business proposals and financial concepts.
- Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20%.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and influence internal and customer working relationships at all levels.
- Proficiency working with many internal and external teams to understand the needs of customers and clearly communicate product benefits and pricing.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills required, along with the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
