pureIntegration is seeking a

Senior

Puppet and Automation Engineer to join our team in support of customer engagements. The engineer will work with

Puppet Enterprise, as well as other configuration management and DevOps tools to develop automation, maintain topology and enforce desired state across large enterprise customers. Outside of Puppet experience, demonstrable understanding of Linux fundamentals as well as scripting expertise in languages such as Ruby, Python or shell is required. Experience with other Infrastructure as Code or Configuration Management tools, such as Ansible, Terraform or Chef, is also a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect and Deploy redundant Puppet Enterprise environments across large heterogeneous enterprise networks
  • Working with customer engineering teams, lead project team meetings to understand customer environments and automation objectives; design and document automation approaches to meet those objectives
  • Develop automation in Puppet Enterprise through the use of Puppet-provided and custom developed modules
  • Employ standard software development lifecycle techniques including source control management, CI/CD and peer review processes during automation development
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in underlying Puppet Enterprise architectures, and associated tech stack such as Linux, Networking and Load Balancing
  • Participate in customer meetings, including Agile ceremonies
  • Maintain statuses of Agile user stories
  • Create and maintain technical documentation

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Equivalent
  • 7+ years experience in Automation and DevOps
  • 4+ years experience provisioning and maintaining highly-available Puppet Enterprise environments in highly complex enterprise environments
  • Demonstrable experience in custom Puppet module development
  • Experience in configuration management against both Linux and Windows endpoints
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience using Git for Puppet source control

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with other DevOps platforms and tools - Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Artifactory
  • Strong understanding of network and security concepts
  • Strong scripting sills (Ruby, Python, Shell)
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality that follows best practices
  • A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, not just the piece you are working on
