Overview:  The software engineer provides programming support for automated equipment control and systems data sharing.  This engineering position requires a minimum of a BSCS, BSEE or BSEET degree and applied interest in machine-process automation programming.  This contributor works within the automation engineering team to create/design computer-controlled machines and processes that are used to manufacture and test night vision devices along with supporting existing systems.  Software development experience should include object-oriented design utilizing Visual Studio.Net or other scripted languages. Electrical/electronic knowledge of HMI devices, computer hardware, networking, PLC hardware, electronics, component level design, electrical layouts, pneumatics, hydraulics, motion control, vision, safety systems and CAD are a plus.Responsibilities:  Leadership and good communication skills to lead or work with a team of technicians, and engineers of multiple disciplines. The automation engineer may often serve as the project team leader to organize the participating members of the team. This engineer works across the facility, interfacing with all process departments.
