General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) has an opening for the Software Developer (Ref# SD522CS).

Work Location: Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.

Job Duties: Research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Code, test, debug, implement, and document complex programs including Java and database SQL code development in support of client mission critical software application. Ensure client/program security requirements are met and/or exceeded. Establish and/or execute on application upgrade/maintenance plan. Participate in meetings with the client, management, and staff on application analysis results and solution implementation and recommendations. Create and modify existing system documentation such as program code and technical documentation. Devise creative and efficient technical solutions for process improvement and application enhancement execution to meet client needs. Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, business analysts, project managers, and developers to achieve best solutions. Research and analyze existing systems and program requirements and perform root cause analysis, solution determination, and remediation of defects. Utilize industry resources to stay abreast of new technology and design methodologies and determine ways to implement within the application stack to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards. Analyze, design, implement, unit test, and deliver multiple releases for applications under GDIT-Appian initiatives. Provide ability to add new/edit record functionality, workflows, and visual dashboard analytics with generation and download of Excel-based ad hoc reports. Involved in end-to-end application development using Appian artifacts including interfaces, expression rules, query entities record types, process models, and reports to develop applications in adherence to Appian best practices and business requirements. Develop complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. Develop unit test plan as per business requirement and design specifications and automate the testing process for better efficiency. Use of SQL, PL/SQL, Java, JSF, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, JavaScript, Putty, WinSCP, Toad, Eclipse, Bamboo, Puppet, Notepad, Informatica, Appian SAIL, Oracle ADF, SQL Developer, JDeveloper, WebLogic, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and Windows.

Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Database Developer or related experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with SQL code development, PL/SQL, and Oracle. 40hrs/week.
