Software Engineer - CoStar - Charlottesville, VA CoStar is looking for experienced Engineer to help grow our brand and business. CoStar's Engineering team is building the technology that facilitates 86% of the real estate transactions in the United States. These transactions range from a small business owner leasing their first office space to a large multi-national buying a new headquarters campus. On any given day our developers are building products that manage nearly a trillion dollars of potential real estate transactions.

We are searching for Software Engineers to join our development team in the Charlottesville office. You will be responsible for supporting and implementing new products and features across our University Off Campus student housing sites and Apartments Network sites. These include high traffic sites like Apartments.com, ForRent.com, ApartmentFinder.com, and others. Universities select CoStar as their exclusive outsourcing partners, to extend their university website and promote the service to students, parents, and faculty/staff. You will work with a broad range of technologies and will be integral in driving our products to provide the best experience in the industry. RESPOSIBILITIES
  • Craft scalable and extensible solutions using the latest Front-End frameworks and technologies to deliver features that people interact with, and rely on, every day.
  • Manage and drive complex technical projects from the planning stage through to execution.
  • Collaborating with other engineers, designers and stake holders.
  • Becoming a trusted team member in matters of technical architecture, design and code.
  • Advocating for evolution and improvement - both technical and non-technical - within our teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science/Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Solid understanding and experience with Object Oriented Programming
  • Experience with software development best practices, including standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing and operations
  • Experience in modern front end application frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrates good working knowledge of SOA
  • Experience with browser-based development tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Demonstrate working knowledge Vue, React or Angular in TypeScript
  • Demonstrate knowledge of C# .Net, Web services, Web API
  • Experience with relational database systems (MS SQL or MySQL)
