Maxar is seeking an independent, creative and driven Software Developer to help our team in Herndon, VA or at a northern VA government customer site by analyzing and characterizing big data and a range of other data sources for National Security purposes. - Contribute to the development of data analytics, user workflows and interfaces, security authentication, and service call architecture comprising a family of applications in our software suite.
- Create rapid prototypes and design and implement complex, cutting-edge systems with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of data to extract meaningful knowledge.
- Work with emerging technologies and data science techniques in support of endeavors to address critical needs of the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and other government agencies.
- Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance and willing to obtain SCI with CI Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience as a professional software engineer.
- Strong Java developer.
- Willing to work onsite in Herndon, VA or Government customer site in Northern Virginia.
- Strong object-oriented programming language (Java, Python) skills.
- Familiarity with Spring framework.
- Cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM, Rackspace).
- Containerization (Docker, Linux containers, Jails).
- Familiarity of IC analyst workflows.
- Experience with SSL/PKI, to include ability to isolate and resolve SSL-related server and client issues.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Atlassian Jira and Confluence).
- Experience in machine learning and data science.
- OGC web services (WMS, WMTS, WCS, WFS).
- Experience with IC analytic tools (e.g., Analyst Notebook, Palantir, etc.).
- Experience with development tools such as Git, Eclipse, Maven.
- SQL/database experience.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to include active listening.
- Linux experience.
- JavaScript web frameworks (Angular, React, Backbone, jQuery, Ember).
- C experience, particularly modern C is a plus.
