Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist in Fairfax, Virginia. This role operates within the industry and requires the processing of full cycle accounts payable, maintaining vendor files, and working closely with other departments to answer questions. The workplace is a traditional office setting.Responsibilities: Execute full cycle accounts payable processing Calculate discounts and code expenses in a timely manner Prepare vouchers and reconcile batch totals Generate detailed account statements Post details to the appropriate ledger and journal, as well as total accounts Maintain and update vendor files consistently Assist in providing training to staff to ensure efficiency Conduct account reconciliations regularly Collaborate with other departments to resolve inquiries Use software like Oracle and Excel for report generation and journal entries. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role Proficient in Account Coding and Accounting Functions Extensive knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Account Reconciliation Familiarity with the 3 Way Matching process Proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Excel is required Capable of generating accurate and timely reports Experience with creating and maintaining Journal Entries Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrates a keen attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
