M9 Solutions is seeking a
Cloud Engineer to work remotely on a government contract for a client located in Arlington, VA . An active Secret clearance is preferred. Responsibilities- Lead the development of an enterprise-wide cloud strategy by developing the architecture governance framework and defining architecture foundations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on cloud architectures.
- Stay abreast of new industry trends and provide subject matter expertise in cloud technologies and consultation to leadership.
- Research, analyze, design, propose, and support the delivery of cloud native and hybrid-end point security solutions.
- Recommend best-fit cloud solutions based on the need and risk appetite.
- Lead the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to develop architecture requirements.
- Participate in the development of enterprise architecture governance structure based on business and IT strategies.
- Drive proof-of-concepts and implementation with hands-on involvement as a SME.
- Build deployment automation pipelines.
- Build automated next generation CI/CD pipelines, partnering with development teams.
- Build and integrate new technologies like containers enabling multi-cloud and preventing cloud provider lock-ins.
- Contribute to and influence IT-wide definition and enhancements of Azure and other cloud platforms to support cloud native/hybrid endpoint security.
- Identify cloud migration drivers and barriers which include total cost of ownership within application assessment, security concerns and resolution, network concerns and resolution, review checklists with application owners, operations teams, development and testing, database administration, appropriate migration paths, etc.
- Define and enforce cloud architecture best practices which include availability, redundancy schemes, performance, disaster recovery, database and interfacing systems, etc.
- Lead the identification and analysis of risk management framework and FedRAMP requirements to support cloud delivered security.
- Act as SME across the business for all cloud technical hands-on questions, with an initial focus on Azure and Cloud Native, Twelve-Factor software development.
- 5 - 10+ years of systems design experience with cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
- Deep technical experience in one or more of the following areas: software design or development, application design, systems operations/management, database architecture, virtualization, IP networking, storage, IT security and Linux system administration.
- Experience with Azure Event Hub, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service, Blob Storage, Azure DNS, Virtual Networks, Redis Cache and Azure App Service, containers.
- Experience in driving cloud migration and strategy initiatives.
- Ability to create system and process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence, and UML diagrams, inter and intra system dependencies within the functional domain and across them.
- An active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
- Experience with IT functions and processes.
- Knowledge of Agile development, Scrum, and application lifecycle management.
- Ability to provide leadership, management, and mentoring to team members.
- Experience leading software developers, systems, or process analysts.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to interact with and provide architectural design guidance to project teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate with other senior leaders on program strategies and plans and negotiate quality solutions.
- Ability to break down complex topics into simple to digest information and data points, adjusted to audiences at various levels.
- Ability to facilitate group meetings/discussions.
- Ability to broker solutions for issues between functional domains, senior leaders.
- Demonstrated strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
- Salary Range: $60,000/year - $180,000/year
