We are looking for an enthusiastic Dev Ops Engineer that will help operationalize and manage day to day operations of a Cloud based IT infrastructure solution. Supported 3rd party vendor applications will be hosted in an AWS environment utilizing EC2, S3, SQS, ELB and other cloud based services. As a DevOps engineer your goal will be to help manage the development environment and work towards automation of application deployment and configuration. automate scheduling of jobs, develop scripts that monitor performance and report errors, develop strategies for automatic error recovery at the same time making sure that cloud resources are being optimally utilized. This position is based out of the SNC office in Herndon, Virginia.

The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber. - Manage DNS Records and Networking
- Apply security policy and manage firewall change requests.
- Monitor Production Server Health of different parameters (CPU Load, Physical Memory, Swap Memory, Hard disk, DB service, Http service and response time) via AWS Console.
- Deploy and manage bastion hosts (RDP/SSH).
- Manage the full system lifecycle with implementing security best practices, provisioning, and automating systems/applications built on AWS.
- Perform software upgrades, as well as kernel patching and errata patching.
- Support government personnel by attending, hosting, and/or facilitating meetings to assess status and issues related to the operations and sustainment of the environment
- Provide feedback based on observations from internal and external organizations to the government in the form of analysis, options, and recommendations
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 3 or more years of relevant experience
- 3-5 years of experience implementing and supporting AWS Cloud Operations
- Working experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, ELB, VPC, S3, IAM, Security Groups)
- Deploying highly available web applications and services on Amazon EC2
- Providing and restricting AWS Management console permissions with AWS IAM Roles and Policies
- Knowledge of AWS networking services & principles
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues
- Ability to configure and manage Windows and Linux (RedHat, CentOS) server environments
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and securing databases (such as MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)
- Utilization of Identity Management Systems (such as Active Directory)
- Experience with IT Operations Monitoring Tools
- Some scripting language experience (Python, Perl, JavaScript, Bash)
- Experience implementing and supporting other non-AWS virtualized environments (such as VMWare)
- An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required. Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances
- Five (5) or more years of experience working with Linux as an AWS Administrator
- TS/SCI w/ CI Polygraph
- Working experience with Amazon Web Services (CloudFormation, CloudFront, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, RDS, Route 53, SNS, SQS)
- Knowledge of AWS Billing and Cost Management service, as well as strategies to optimize cost savings with services like Amazon EC2.
- Experience implementing and supporting configuration management frameworks (such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible)
- Experience with container management software (such as Docker or Kubernetes)
- DevOps, specifically using tools like GitHub or GitLab
- Experience designing and implementing cloud solutions using IAAS and PAAS
- Attribute-based Access Control practices with AWS IAM, IAM Policies conditions, and resource tagging.
- Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS backups and manage disaster recovery strategies on AWS
- Working Knowledge of DoD security policy, procedures, and tools (such as STIGs, ICD503, HBSS)
