We have an opening for an Information Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. This position will be in filled at our Dulles, VA office.Essence of the Role:Each program within the Tactical Space Systems Division must have a team of technical engineers who are highly focused on meeting computing needs. In this activity we are calling the IT Shop, we aim to provide a means through which technical solutions are provided to software and systems engineers to accelerate their product delivery because expertise on the various programs do not necessarily exist in which to design and implement hardware systems that meet the demanding needs of daily operations. Support is typically performed from a remote terminal and most program work is well suited for this model, however, onsite access can be problematic especially when simple activities are required, like powering machines on and off, checking system and environmental temperatures, or physically placing computers.The list of IT Shop activities and responsibilities includes, but is not limited to:- System administration of computing assets
- Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual systems
- Liaison with external IT department (Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services)
- Resolve connection issues to internal networks as well as externally connected networks
- Environmental (i.e., physical plant) monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting, and basic remediation
- Establish ticketing processes and report metrics on service levels
- Serve as triage point for tickets: analyze tickets, requests additional information, process tickets through system, assignment of tickets, confirmation with requestors prior to closure, closing of tickets
- Actions requiring physical interaction of computers, such as power cycling, installing/replacing memory, installing/replacing storage, installing/replacing peripheral cards, using appropriate tools where required
- A Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience or a Master's degree with 4 years
- Recent experience with RedHat Linux system administration (specifically RHEL 6, 7, or 8) with basic understanding of package management and basic system level commands to gather items like versions, packages in use, ports in use by processes, network interfaces, disk free space, etc.
- Recent experience with Windows system administration on the various server-level products. Ability to manage Windows desktop systems
- Demonstrated work and understanding of virtualization. Understanding of differences between bare metal machines, virtual machines, hypervisors
- Demonstrated work and understanding of computer networking
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance
- A Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience or a Master's degree with 8 years
- 5+ years RedHat Linux system administration with strong scripting experience, perl is a plus
- 5+ years Windows system administration on server level products and desktop administration tools
- 5+ years virtualization/hypervisor experience with experience in VMWare VSphere or Nutanix cloud computing environments
- Demonstrated work in cyber security compliance as it applies to computing systems
- Strong understanding of computer networking, including but not limited to hub and switch operations, routing tables, and protocol communication standards
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain a clearance
- Current RHCE/RHSA certification
- Current Security+, CISSP, CEH, or other cyber security certification
- Current MCSA certification
- Current Secret / Top Secret clearance
- Strong python scripting skills
