Our team succeeds when the entire Project Kuiper organization can scale as needed to be successful.We are seeking a skilled and experienced Identity System Development Engineer to join our team. As an Identity System Develop Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our organization's identity systems, including products like Active Directory and Okta. In addition, you will contribute to system development and DevOps practices to ensure secure and efficient access management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate identity systems, develop custom solutions, and automate processes. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of identity systems, strong system development skills, DevOps expertise, and a passion for maintaining robust access control.Key job responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage identity systems, such as Active Directory and Okta, to support secure access management across the organization.
Develop custom solutions and integrations to enhance identity system capabilities and meet specific business requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Integrate identity systems with other applications and services, using protocols such as SAML and OIDC.
Implement system development best practices, including version control, code review, and automated testing, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Apply DevOps principles and practices to streamline identity system deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
Automate identity system processes and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement necessary optimizations to enhance system efficiency and security.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in identity and access management, system development, and DevOps.
Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams and end-users regarding identity system-related queries.
Participate in incident response activities, including investigating and resolving security incidents related to identity systems.

3+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
4+ years of systems development in an IT or data center environment experience
2+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure that has been successfully delivered to customers

The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
