Sr. Systems Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Translate Client's security strategy and hyper converged architecture into a highly available and secure technical implementation in accordance with best practices.
  • Analyzes and defines business requirements to determine specifications and standards; proposes and develops solutions.
  • Plans, installs, configure, monitors and tests hyper converged infrastructure directly or through coordination with other division/staff.
  • Monitors and diagnoses problems related to the components of the hyper converged infrastructure.
  • Deploys and oversees implementation and integration of web-based applications, ensuring that appropriate information security standards are met.
  • Ensures functional reliable core infrastructure systems for client that includes maintaining hardware and software at a stable level and meets the need of client.
  • Ensures environmental integrity, monitors real time performance and isolates operational bottlenecks by analyzing and diagnosing problems from monitors, dumps and other available information.
  • Ensures that all relevant client policies, directives, and procedures are followed and the HCI infrastructure complies with these requirements.
  • Responsible for problem management escalation and resolution.
  • Continuously support and collaborate with other teams and projects as needed
  • Virtual Environment: Maintain client's VMware virtual server environments, vSAN and NSX. Provide technical resources to install and troubleshoot the HCI environment. Monitor performance and capacity to ensure ultimate response time and availability for all virtual systems.
  • Reviews operation logs and event console activity to determine cause of network security-related events or to identify potential security-related events.
  • Proactively protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information in the custody of or processed by the company by: responding in a timely manner to a loss or misuse of network assets; participating in investigations of suspected network misuse or in compliance reviews as requested; communicating unresolved network security exposures, misuse, or noncompliance situations to management.
  • Provides technical expertise to the Information Security Office and to client as a whole. Administers security tools that control and monitor information security, including: updating security system configurations and designing computer system vulnerability and compliance reports to identify possible security holes.
  • Researches, evaluates, designs, tests, recommends and plans implementation of new or improved network security software or devices: analyzes new or enhanced software applications or tool implementations for implications to existing network security.

Knowledge/Skill Requirement:
  • Solid understanding on migration paths from traditional datacenter to (hyper)converged/software defined datacenter
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure silos such as servers, storage and networking with a strong emphasis on networking and security.
  • Solid understanding of virtual computing, virtual networking and virtual storage, cloud security, identity and role based access management such as vSphere, vSan, NSX.
  • Experience with one or more cloud computing platforms.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills in converged and hyper converged infrastructure systems to resolve compute, storage, network and other infrastructure problems
  • Experience in engineering and performing capacity management for (hyper) converged infrastructure solution such as Dell EMC - VxRail
  • Strong communication skills; demonstrated ability to understand customer/user experience.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs and to marry multiple tools together to solve problems.
  • Ability to develop and deliver projects using (when appropriate) leading-edge technology
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving background.
  • Solid project management skills planning and monitoring projects, with ability to multitask and manage/co-manage multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to contribute to Network Operations efforts to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the team's knowledge of and concern for customers' business needs.
  • Team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical information in a concise and articulate manner.
  • Ability to work with customers of varying levels of technical ability.
