- Detailed knowledge and hands on experience with single mode fiber optic cable, fusion splicing, and installation best practices.
- Skilled in single mode fiber testing with OTDR.
- Troubleshoot MPLS Ethernet Networks and microwave radios.
- TDM testing of DS1's.
- Skilled in the installation of telecommunications equipment including running power leads, installing fuse panels, cable management, fiber management, cable terminations, and grounding.
- Support, installation, and testing of microwave radio systems, elliptical wave guide, microwave antennas, and the necessary grounding for each component.
- Knowledge of grounding practices for communication buildings and antenna support structures.
- Basic understanding of the components that make up a tower lighting system.
- Fiber splicing experience preferred.
- Detailed knowledge and hands on experience with channel banks/multiplexers.
- Basic understanding of data networking.
- Must be safety conscious and detailed oriented.
- Effective computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products to include Visio, Power Point, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrate technical documentation skills as needed.
- Small project leadership experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical, abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively within a team environment.
