Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Midlothian, Virginia. This role focuses on the day-to-day management of our financial data, involving tasks such as Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger maintenance, and other related duties. This is an excellent opportunity for a short term contract position within the financial industry.Responsibilities: Review and process all invoices for payment in a timely manner Handle all aspects of Accounts Receivable, ensuring prompt collection and accurate record-keeping Conduct regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records Maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately Prepare journal entries as required, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accounted for accurately Utilize Microsoft Excel to create reports and analyze financial data Work collaboratively with the finance team to drive efficiency and accuracy in all financial operations Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and guidelines. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. Proven experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must. Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is needed. Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger is required. Experience in Journal Entries and Month End Close is necessary. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is vital. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are desired. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks is required. Professional certification such as CPA is preferred but not mandatory.
