Staff Accountant

Description We are in search of a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team based in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with managing general ledger accounts, preparing financial statements, and reconciling bank statements. You will also be involved in evaluating internal controls, assisting with budget preparation, and maintaining account balances. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.Responsibilities Manage general ledger accounts and make necessary adjustments Engage in the analysis and reconciliation of bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts Maintain the charts of accounts in the general ledger Assist in carrying out initial evaluations of internal controls Post accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis Reconcile balances of sub-ledger to general ledger accounts Prepare comprehensive financial statements Evaluate internal controls, conduct risk assessments, and review risk areas Assist in the preparation of the budget and perform monthly budget variance analyses Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Experience with bank reconciliations Familiarity with General Ledger operations Ability to prepare and manage journal entries Experience in Month End Close processes Proficiency in using QuickBooks software Solid understanding of bookkeeping practices Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
