Our strategically deployed monitoring equipment and in-house diagnostic tools enable teams across Dominion Energy to expedite restoration of service, direct fact-finding investigations, and facilitate NERC compliance activities.The selected candidate will join the SPAA team within Power Delivery – Electric Transmission (ET) as a Technical Consultant developing and maintaining automation tools, communication protocols, and data integration in support of ET operations and Operation Technology (OT) use cases including digital fault recorders, fault analysis platforms, and equipment monitoring. These products must be properly documented and distributed for stakeholders throughout the company.This role also includes ownership of engineering tools that automate and streamline business processes within engineering and craft teams. Responsibilities may include process design, system architecture, software development and maintenance, documentation generation, and stakeholder advocacy. A strong focus on end-user/customer engagement and support within Power Delivery is critical to successful execution of the job function.The candidate will:
Participate in industry-related organizations and working groups to ensure that the application of the most recent technology and industry standards is applied to Dominion Energy processes and requirements.
Attend formal training as required from external equipment providers.
Work closely with internal and external entities to ensure reliable equipment and process installations.
Participate in industry and company working groups to identify best practices.
Provide expert feedback and updates to management.
Perform vendor assessments and evaluations.
Provide training to internal organizations as needed.
The selected candidate will also perform other duties as assigned.Note: This role is not part of a series or natural progression.Must be able to meet NERC qualifications.Relocation assistance is available for this position.Sponsorship is available for this position.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
8+ years directly related experience in addition to preferred degree or its equivalence in additional demonstrated directly related experience/education.
Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications.
Note: A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a related field can count as one-year experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Candidate should have strong automation and computer programming background, preferably with experience in full-stack development using SQL, Python, C#, Delphi, and SharePoint.
In-depth knowledge of design and operation of complex systems, development tools, and full-stack development skills necessary for OT device and data integration.
Experience with both agile and waterfall design is preferred.
Ability to interpret industry codes, regulations, and practices.
Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
Ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering and technology to solve broadly defined computer programming and technical problems of the discipline.
Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Proficient with research skills.
Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills including technical writing and the ability to identify and utilize appropriate technical literature.
Dedicated to continuous improvement and identifying best practice opportunities.
Able to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
