Survey Party ChiefDirect Hire opportunity Job Summary/sample:Actalent invites a Survey Party Chief to be an integral part of our client's operations in Mechanicsville, VA. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations of the Field Crew, mentor team members in the use of surveying equipment such as total stations, levels, GPS, and data collectors, and oversee the establishment of benchmarks for residential and commercial construction projects. This role includes maintaining equipment, documenting field activities with precision, and operating independently or leading a team when necessary.Core Competencies:

Proficiency in surveying techniques and land measurement.

Experience with topographical mapping and construction site surveying.

Familiarity with GPS technology, AutoCAD, and land development processes.

Solid grounding in civil engineering and land survey principles.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent.

At least two years’ experience leading survey teams.

Proficiency with Trimble Robotic & TDS software.

A valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Organized and professional approach to collecting and documenting field data for a variety of surveying projects.

Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Surveyor Intern (SI) certification is advantageous.

Experience with AutoCAD and GPS technologies is beneficial.

Physical capability to transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs across diverse terrains and in varying weather conditions, including tasks such as hiking, climbing, and managing vegetation.

Experience Requirement:

This position is best suited for an individual with an intermediate level of experience in the field of surveying.
