Position: System Engineer F5

Position Summary: The successful candidate will serve as the F5 Subject Matter Expert.They shall provide Tier III level F5 Load Balancer support acting as a reverse proxy, configureF5 Big-IP platforms for access from the internet to internal Customer application servers,provide capabilities in supporting Boundary Security Devices, Active Directory, and firewalls toprovide load balancing and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) services. The Engineer shallconfigure the F5 services to support Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, networking,Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)/Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and other technologies asapplicable. The F5 infrastructure is a mixed environment of VMware based and physical baseddevices. These tasks require capabilities in VMware Virtualization, and VMware cloud toperform the specialized Engineering Development Model (EDM) Boundary Security Devicetasks.

Clearance Requirement: Active DoD - TS/SCIDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains the overall health of technologies associated with Gateway and FirewallServices.Provides support for Gateway and Firewall related technologies.Monitors the health of Gateway and Firewall Services with Customer-provided eventmanagement tools.Resolves F5 tickets escalated from the service desk or Tier II using RemedyProvides documentation, guidance and instruction to the Tier 1/Tier II service desk forhandling standard Gateway, Firewall and load balancer services related incidents, workorders and service requests.Submits and executes Gateway, Firewall Services, load balancer related Request forChange (RFC) tasks.Coordinates incident tickets between Tier II and III sections as well as Engineering andother sections.Supports the change management process by submitting requests through ChangeApproval Board, participating in a Change Review Board, and providing information tosupport decision making.Escalates issues to third party product vendors.Implements monitoring tool thresholds and conduct proactive event remediation.Monitors and implements, upon management approval, guidance from the US CyberCommand (USCYBERCOM).Configures Transport Layer Security access and logging on the devices.Provides analysis and remediation for Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) for all responsible technologies inpreparation for annual Command Cyber Operational Readiness Inspections (CCORI).COMPETENCIES:Good communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to follow policies and proceduresAbility to communicate in a clear speaking voice as well as the ability to respond clearlyto questionsAptitude to address negative situations and resolve them in a positive manner.Education and Certification Requirements:IAT III - (CISA, GCIH, GCED, CASP or CISSP (Associate), CCNP Security)F5 Technology Specialist CertifiedBackground and Experience:5 demonstrated in network engineering, security and credential management.Experience with VMware and its interaction with F5 virtual devices.Experience with F5 7200 and 10330 series Local Traffic Manager as a reverse proxy forall Customer external facing websitesRequired Technical Skills:F5 Architecture Design for Microsoft ExchangeF5 Big-IP Access Policy ManagerF5 Big-IP Local Traffic ManagerF5 Big-IP Global Traffic ManagerF5 Certified Solutions Expert (CSE)PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may requirestanding and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generallyfavorable.
