Systems Analyst Senior

The

Systems Analyst Senior is responsible for defining and managing the scope of business systems projects.

How you will make an impact:

  • Manages integrated functionality, usability, reliability, performance and support requirements of a system.

  • Creates feature test strategies and environment needs.

  • Provides the link between the technical and business views of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will satisfy the needs of the business.

  • Applies and mentors use of tools to define requirements.

  • Anticipates and identifies opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensures high level designs including architecture requirements are accurately documented and map to approved requirements.

  • Assists in developing training documentation and proactive identification of additional documentation needs.

Department Specific Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces directly with program/project managers to determine business needs and translate them into actionable requirements.

  • Performs requirements gathering and analysis.

  • Defines functionality, usability, reliability and performance of a system.

  • Estimates time required for project completion.

  • Prepares schedules and designs documentation.

  • Conducts design reviews and development testing and deploys application enhancements.

  • Supports IT developers with designing, developing and testing of applications to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Develops test/use cases and utilizes testing methods to determine issues or problems.

  • Reviews work products, deploys applications to test environments and initiates user acceptance testing which includes identifying bugs and coordinating with technical teams to correct identified issues.

  • Performs Run the Business (RTB) activities, i.e., fix all Elevance GBD Facets Disbursement System IT related issues that may come up during the implementation phase.

  • Serves as subject matter expert with disbursements.

  • Works with FACETS environment to analyze, troubleshoot, and support production issues.

  • Collaborates with database administrators, network administrators and application users to ensure applications are running smoothly.

  • Identifies and manages risks and develops contingency plans to resolve issues that impact business objectives.

  • Works with the IT learning organization to mentor and assist in training initiatives and performs estimates for application functionality enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years' experience with documenting requirements and/or building test cases for a variety of technologies; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience testing/product quality processes tools and methods strongly preferred.

  • Project management experience and training in facilitation strongly preferred.

  • SQL / SQL Server and Oracle experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience with FACETS, JIRA, Confluence, Tidal, Report Services, MS Visio and Agile methodologies strongly preferred.

  • Requirements gathering experience strongly preferred.

  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
