It's all part of what makes #MyRichmondFed a great place to work!About the Opportunity Our Data Office has an immediate opening for a Technical Data Advisor, reporting to the Chief Data Officer. In your role as a Technical Data Advisor, you will work closely with the Chief Data Officer, Information Technology Services (ITS) team, and multiple business lines to champion data solutions and foster value creation of the Bank's data assets. You will provide data management support and consultation to assigned business areas, and direct methodologies and measures to ensure processes and procedures are effective and meet IT and Data Office standards. You will also work on cross functional teams and partner with ITS to develop data management best practices into technology solutions that meet the needs of our clients.What You Will Do:- Provide strategic guidance and consultation to Bank clients and leaders on data solutions to support critical business decisions.
- Anticipate client needs by establishing personal rapport with all clients.
- Assess existing business processes and associated data to develop process improvement recommendations and implement changes that will increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide data consulting services to assigned business lines and present information in a way that individuals of varying business and technical aptitudes can understand and use.
- Identify and evaluate data related issues and trends, conduct complex risk analysis, and support the development and implementation of mitigation plans.
- Champion the importance of good data management principles.
- Occasional travel including overnight stays may be necessary (15%) when normal travel resumes.
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of related experience.
- Strong data analysis skills using structured or unstructured datasets to identify data gaps and data quality issues.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with various other online applications, as needed for the role.
- Broad knowledge of Federal Reserve Bank operations and/or related industry, risk mitigation and process improvement strategies, as well as project management processes.
- Excellent consultation and communication skills, with the ability to develop and leverage relationships across the organization.
- Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of business line data to recommend and execute solutions that will improve the data's ability to support desired business outcomes.
- Ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists.
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on development efforts and seamlessly integrate good data management processes.
- Data catalog experience is highly desired.

- The hiring range for the Technical Data Advisor (Technical Advisor- Senior) is $105,000 - $131,200, annually.
- The full salary range for the Technical Data Advisor (Technical Advisor- Senior) is $105,000 - $170,600, annually.
- Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual's knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications/experience.
