CGI Federal is seeking a Technical Writer to support advanced research projects that will provide healthcare solutions for all.This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days onsite/week in Fairfax, VA or Baltimore, MDYour future duties and responsibilities: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and API documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for accurate and up-to-date documentation. Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Edits, standardizes, or makes changes to material prepared by other writers Documents integration processes and procedures Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology Recommend improvements in the validation process, including document templates and communication with the technical team members.Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining technical documentation Strong writing and editing skills in technical documentation Ability to explain complex technical ideas in simple terms Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Confluence, Jira, etc.) Ability to work well with a team of application developers including the ability to take content provided by the technical team and build customer-ready documents around the content. Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for technical and non-technical audiences and be skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking Ability to document technical software systems, including API specifications Captures meeting minutes/notes and distributes electronically as required. Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, have excellent grammar skills and a strong attention to detail.Nice to Have: Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger or PostmanCGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
