About the Opportunity

Our National IT Organization has an immediate opening for a Test Engineer to oversee Performance Test and Test Tools engagements.

As the Test Engineer, you will ensure quality standards of the test team's deliverables and overall technical direction, work with project teams to define test engagement scope, and support the design of test scripts, test scenarios executions, and performance test result analysis. You will also work with software engineers, business analysts, database administrators, network engineers, and project support teams to analyze, develop, maintain and execute performance testing engagements.

What You Will Do:
  • Design and create performance tests that meet project teams' requirements.
  • Review and debug/remediate issues with scripts.
  • Review and debug/remediate issues with connectivity (WebSeal, Certificates, Proxies, etc.).
  • Review and debug/remediate issues with Performance Center or Silk Performer components.
  • Determine best Silk Performer/Performance Center messaging protocol(s) to employ based on the application under test.
  • Track and communicate task progress, status, and key performance metrics.
  • Inform the project team of defects and seek issue resolution.
  • Communicate across multiple teams/external vendors (Operations, Project Teams, Quality Service, etc.) and different personnel (Developers, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, etc.).
  • Perform detailed system resource utilization metric analysis for issues uncovered during test execution and recommend possible remediation paths.
  • Conduct troubleshooting/performance test execution(s) for remediation efforts.
  • Analyze data and application changes and document their impact on the performance testing task (test cases, scripting, scenario execution, etc.).
  • Ensures test execution results meet defined test objectives. Schedule test re-execution if necessary.
  • Ensure the appropriate testing and monitoring tools/technologies are employed for the test objectives/project teams' requirements.
  • Maintain technical expertise in governing computer sciences, performance/load testing dictums, and Quality Assurance.

Indirect Responsibilities
  • Mentor Junior Testers in Performance Testing and Quality Assurance principles
  • Provide feedback to Leadership to support continuous improvement.
  • Calculate project test data needs and insure data diversity.
  • Escalate issues/impediments in a timely manner to team leadership.
  • Lead simultaneous Performance Test engagements.

Qualifications:
  • Job-related experience equal to 2 - 6 years
  • Solid understanding of HP's Performance Center (LoadRunner)
  • Excellent technical understanding of Silk Performer
  • Excellent understanding of HP's ALM (Quality Center)
  • Solid understanding of BMC's Patrol and Dynatrace
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, versed in several delivery models (waterfall, agile, etc.)
