Job Description

The Training Store Manager (TSM) assists the District Manager with operational, training, and strategic activities of the stores and associates in their district. This position oversees the completion of the Training Store Manager Program including New Store Opening Training, New Manager Onboarding Training (Management Acceleration Program), and other district-wide training initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the District Manager to formulate and implement productive business development strategies to ensure long-term success.
  • Sets training and coaching standards and objectives for different stores and departments.
  • Conducts training and development for all new and existing Store Managers within the district. Supports and trains staff on all safety protocols.
  • Initiates ongoing communication with the District Manager and/or Area Manager and provides store reporting and updates as required.
  • Defines unmet store needs and creates improvement plans.
  • Leads, coaches, and mentors new managers and store teams towards effective collaboration and attainment of goals.
  • Partners with the People Development Team and Associate Relations to ensure all training and development occur on time and when needed for each associate.
  • Completes consistent feedback sessions with all associates based on their performance, succession planning, and career development needs.
  • Ensures associates follow NVI policies and procedures and keeps associate files up to date including attendance, training, and development.
  • Confronts problem performers directly and without delay; partners with District Manager and/or Area Manager to conduct investigations and initiate appropriate disciplinary action when necessary, and follows up to monitor progress.
  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four year college degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of retail experience; supervising experience preferred
  • 1 year in optical store management position.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • ABO and NCLE
