About the Role: NVR is seeking a Vice President of Business Development for our Chantilly VA location to join our Corporate Growth team. The VP of Business Development, will develop and execute company sales and marketing plans, including implementing new ideas and tools for the company and will provide direction and planning for the company and oversee the workings of the company. As a VP of Operations, the incumbent will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. Job description for VP of Business Development (80%)

  • Oversee the formation of business partnerships and negotiation of contracts.
  • Lead company's planning and execution of strategies to increase sales and company growth.
  • Refine win strategies through technical solutions development, effective teaming, staffing and pricing strategies.
  • Develop creative outreach strategies to attract and retain clients.
  • Manage business development and sales staff.
  • Coordinate with proposal development, contracts, pricing, and oversee bid completions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, account managers, and technical groups to coordinate business development activities
  • Seek out and source new clients by developing networks and independently identifying and developing relevant resources for sales and business development.
  • Use his/her established network in Federal agencies to actively meet with potential clients, identify new business opportunities, and serve as Capture Manager for identified strategic pursuits
  • Meet with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure an excellent client experience across all client interactions from needs assessment through delivery and follow up.
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop win strategy for specific opportunities
  • Focuses on identification and capture of large, multi-year opportunities (i.e., game changers) with the goal of bidding at least 3 game changers per year. Game changer opportunities are defined as those that have the potential to double the size of the company at any given time.
  • Create and deliver executive presentations intended for capture approvals
  • Work towards sales and revenue goals as established in partnership with the President.
  • Over time, as the team grows, manage 1-3 people in marketing and/or sales functions
  • Help define the Companies overall approach and focus in the Government vertical
  • Participate in special projects as required.
Job description for VP of Operations: (20%)
  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organizations operations division.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Participates in Division, Company, and Corporate strategic planning activities for specific projects (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, participation in business plan development, etc.).
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
  • Establishes and administers the department's budget.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to secure customer meetings to further position NVR on IT pursuits
  • Ability to gain internal support, and the ability to establish and maintain a solid working relationship with technical staff, managers, and peers.
  • Requires proficiency in Federal contracting and demonstrated knowledge of Federal request for proposal language as well as IT services.
  • Experience developing business opportunities within the Department of Defense communities and other Federal Agencies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required to develop external/internal papers, presentations, and business plans
  • Strong track record of tailoring focused capture plan objectives, strategies and tactics in conjunction with quantifying and qualifying opportunities
