Description We are offering an opportunity for a VP of Accounting role based in Arlington, Virginia. The successful candidate will oversee the Company's financial reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and provide leadership to the accounting team. The role will also involve working closely with various departments, including finance, investment, development, IT, and legal, to support corporate and department initiatives.Responsibilities include: Overseeing the Company's external financial reporting processes Serving as the GAAP accounting lead for technical accounting review and structuring assessments for transactions and other business activities Assessing new accounting standards and regulatory requirements Overseeing the accounting and reporting for the Company's derivative and hedge accounting, as well as equity and share based compensation Supporting the external audit process for both financial reporting and SOX Ensuring proper guidance and training to foster staff development and achievement of the team's goals Overseeing the SEC reporting for the Company, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, as well as the quarterly Earnings Release Providing GAAP accounting and reporting guidance for financial, development, and other real estate transactions and other corporate activities Monitoring updates for GAAP and regulatory requirements and implementing updates Ensuring initial and ongoing documentation to support hedge accounting, and related accounting, reporting and disclosure for derivatives and hedge accounting Overseeing the accounting and reporting for all equity-related transactions and share based compensation, including the initial recognition, any modifications, and ongoing accounting and reporting.For immediate consideration, please contact Aaron Brennan directly on LinkedInRequirements Demonstrable proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Proven track record in ensuring Compliance with relevant laws and regulations Previous experience with SEC Reporting Proficiency in Hedge Accounting Strong knowledge of Technical Accounting Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field required Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior-level Accounting or Finance roleFor immediate consideration, please contact Aaron Brennan directly on LinkedInRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
