Job Title: Windows Systems EngineerWork Location: Arlington, VAClearance Required: US Citizen, DHS Public TrustPosition Description/Scope of Work:Alpha Omega is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to support an IT portfolio within a PMO for one of our DHS clients. The selected candidate will, at a minimum, fulfill the responsibilities listed in the Responsibilities section.Responsibilities: - Self-starter and ability to work in a startup-like environment (Cover any and all team responsibilities)
- Work independently with little supervision
- Manage and maintain Windows servers, including WSUS and Active Directory
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the Windows infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain group policies.
- Monitor and optimize server performances
- Ensure security and compliance with industry standards
- Provide support and guidance to their IT staff
- Stay up-to-data with new technologies and best practices.
Required Skills: - Strong experience with Windows server administration, including WSUS and Active Directory management.
- Strong understanding of group policies.
- Experience with server performance monitoring and optimization.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance best practices.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong experience with Cisco Meraki Cloud, including deployment, configuration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Multi Factor Authentication such as OKTA, Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator
- Experience managing and maintaining Video Management System Software (xProtect Milestone)
- In-depth understanding of networking principles and protocols including routing, switching and security
- Strong Powershell scripting skills
- Advanced knowledge of MS SQL, including database administration, management and troubleshooting
- Experience in building, maintaining and monitoring and troubleshooting log servers such as Whatsup Gold, Splunk etc.
Desired Skills: - Active or recent previous DHS experience HIGHLY desired.
Required Certification(s): - Microsoft Server and support related certifications
Desired Certification(s): - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
