About the Opportunity

Primary Skill(s)

Methodical troubleshooting skills with extensive hands-on experience with Aruba wireless networks.

Perform systems engineering, design, analysis, and experimentations of wireless networks.

Secondary Skill(s)

Experience in vendor interaction and management.

Strong communication skills, analytical ability, decisiveness, judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management, staff, and vendors.

Roles and responsibilities

The position is responsible for design, implementation, and support of wireless networks and solutions for one of our federal clients in Virginia Square, VA and its various remote sites across USA.

Responsible for the day-to-day activities meeting performance of the Managed Service Provider responsibility for the quality and reliability of wireless network systems.

Make recommendations for wireless network optimization, additions, and upgrades to meet the government's requirements.

Conduct and document radio frequency (RF) coverage and site surveys.

Document wireless network infrastructure and design.

Interacts and collaborates closely with all Infrastructure support teams and Managed Service providers for Wireless related issues. Acts as an escalation point for issues and incidents related to the wireless environment.

Responsible for the quality of vendor implementations and adherence to agency's IT architecture standards.

Responsible for preparation of Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports for senior management.

Participates in and monitors the change management requests related to the wireless environment.

Works extensively with the Managed Service providers to review all major incidents related to Wireless systems, identify root cause for severe and/or recurring incidents, and develops problem resolution plans to prevent these incidents from recurring.

Basic Qualification

Five or more years of relevant work experience supporting wireless network infrastructure for large public or private or government organizations.

An in-depth background in wireless equipment, standards, protocol, and security standards, as well as wireless local area network (WLAN) design is necessary.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong understanding of the tools and processes used in managing wireless network.

Must Have Skill(s)

Attention to details.

Proficient in Aruba Wireless technology.

Aruba Certified Network Security Associate (ACNSA).

Proficient in routing and switching.

Strong networking knowledge in AAA, SNMPv3, diagnostics, debugging, tracking the packets, firewall, and load balancing concepts.

Perform advance troubleshooting skills and resolve complex wireless network problems.

Be onsite at customer location 2 days a week and/or as needed.

Must be available for on-call rotation schedule set by the management.

Good to have / Preferred

Knowledge of Azure.

Understanding of ITIL principals.

Work experience in a managed services IT environment is preferred.
