DescriptionAmazon’s digital accounting team provides diverse customer offerings including App Developer services via Amazon’s Appstore, provision of engaging content through services like Amazon Kids+ and ComiXology, and independent author services through Print on Demand, Brilliance Publishing and Amazon Publishing. The digital accounting team is seeking a Finance Manager to support the accounting for its dynamic and growing digital businesses. This role will work across the broader Digital accounting team and Devices and Services team to lead management of various aspects of accounting month-end close, controllership initiatives, and new projects. The candidate will work closely with members of cross-functional teams to design, develop and deliver operationalization of complex accounting projects. The candidate will also have technical accounting experience in reviewing contracts and assessing the accounting treatment in accordance with Amazon Accounting Policy and US GAAP. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, and results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.Key job responsibilities Supporting various aspects of our accounting month-end close and financial reporting process. Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities. Ability to develop and provide accounting requirements to operationalize complex accounting concepts. Escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership. Strong sense of ownership. Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization. Ability to develop partnerships between cross functional stakeholders. 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

CPA

Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency

Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification

Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients

Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Effective verbal and written communication

The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.
