Summary: At Reality Labs Research (RL-R), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. In this position, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, research scientists, and experience designers to advance the technical readiness of novel audio technologies. You will focus on designing and integrating latest audio algorithms to AR/VR prototypes to create new experiences beyond what traditional consumer audio devices are capable of and prove their experiential value and product viability. A successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in the design, implementation and end-to-end verification of audio algorithms.Required Skills: Audio ML/DSP Research Scientist Responsibilities:
Research and develop audio processing algorithms for communications in MATLAB, and Floating Point C/C languages.
Define, develop and debug real-time audio system software for forward looking products and user experiences.
Generate novel solutions to some of the most complex problems in audio.
Convert audio algorithm subsystems to building blocks integrated to real-time hardware platform
Design, develop, optimize, and debug Matlab and C implementation of real-time audio algorithms on proprietary and off-the-shelf audio hardware SoC’s.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
PhD degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Understanding of how end-to-end audio systems work including transducers, audio ICs, acoustics, embedded DSPs, etc.
3+ years of experience creating efficient real-time audio algorithms.
Proven record of high-quality patents and publications in the field of audio enhancement, voice processing and machine learning applied to audio and signal processing.
Experience with Neural Network frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with adaptive DSP audio algorithms such as adaptive Feedback cancellation, adaptive beamforming, echo cancellation, etc.
Experience in ML based algorithm for embedded audio applications.
Knowledge of C.
Experience with algorithm optimization for low power systems with limited computational capabilities.
