A biotechnology company in Washington is currently seeking a new AWS Redshift Data Engineer (Commercial) for a great opportunity with their growing staff in downtown Seattle.

Responsibilities: The AWS Redshift Data Engineer (Commercial) will:
  • Closely partner with business stakeholders across the Commercial space and other technical team members to acquire and migrate initial data sources that are most relevant to business needs and goals
  • Demonstrate deep technical and domain knowledge of relational and non-relation databases, Data Warehouses, Data lakes among other structured and unstructured storage options
  • Determine which tools and architectures are best suited to develop a pipeline for a particular data source
  • Develop data flow pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources in various forms, including custom ETL pipelines that enable model and product development
  • Write custom scripts to extract data from unstructured/semi-structured sources
  • Provide clear documentation for delivered solutions and processes, integrating documentation with the appropriate corporate stakeholders
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements for data management
  • Stay current with and adopt new tools and applications to ensure high quality and efficient solutions
  • Build cross-platform data strategy to aggregate multiple sources, including manufacturing, equipment, laboratory testing and process development datasets
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing ETL solutions using any enterprise ETL tools
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proven experience working with Cloud environments
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehouse design and data modeling principles, following the most updated and performant standards
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems and scripting (SQL, NoSQL and distributed databases)
  • Knowledge of relevant commercial datasets (e.g. Camptag, Google 360, Social Network).
  • Experience with Data Prep/Automation tools, such as Dataiku
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • Experience working in Life Sciences, pharma/biotech, or related field
  • Working knowledge of AWS
  • Proven experience with BI tools, such as Tableau and Spotfire
  • Scripting experience, Python, Julia, or NodeJs
