This position requires a highly motivated individual who will assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with land development engineering projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The CAD Designer will possess/acquire strong design capabilities and will be able to work effectively and efficiently in the AutoCAD Civil 3D environment. Whether or not the individual has AutoCAD Civil 3D experience, they will have the opportunity to be mentored by a group of highly effective designers and engineers.
What you’ll do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Setup civil plan sets using Sheet Set Manager
Design site layouts and incorporate architectural plans into the civil design.
Design/draft grading plans including construction of Civil 3D surfaces using feature lines, grading groups, and corridors.
Design/draft utility improvements for water, sewer, and storm including building pipe networks, pressure networks, and preparing plans and profiles.
Design/draft temporary sediment erosion control (TESC) plans and detail sheets.
Design/Draft road improvements including road profiles and constructing road corridors.
Design/Draft detention ponds including grading groups and volume calculations.
Participation in AutoCAD mentorship and classes both in person and online.
Work well with others and be willing to take direction and/or correction from coworkers.
Our Perfect Candidate:
Education and Experience:
High School education (associates or higher degree in CAD or engineering related fields are a plus)
Experience with Grading and Land Development Design preferred (willing to train someone without AutoCAD Civil 3D experience)
Ability to learn and work proficiently with AutoCAD
Proficiency in Civil 3D and/or land development design a plus
Required Computer Abilities and Skills Required:
AutoCAD(Civil 3D a plus)
Able to communicate thoughts and concepts with team members
High motivation to learn
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Team oriented individual
Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Bluebeam required
