Controller

Description Robert Half is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill a Controller position for our client in Bellevue, Washington office. As the Controller, you will manage a team of six in accounting. This role will involve working with the finance team to manage and oversee the preparation of financial reports, direct investment activities, and implement cash management strategies. As the Controller, you will also be responsible for the financial health of the company, ensuring compliances with laws and regulations, and making high-level decisions about policy and strategy. Responsibilities: Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives Manage the preparation of all financial reports, summaries, and forecasts for the purpose of informing management of current financial position Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure consistent application of the company's financial policies, rules, and regulations Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems Assist in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance required to start a business Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements to pinpoint potential weak areas Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating proceduresRequirements Proficient in the use of NetSuite software preferred Expertise in creating and managing Cash Flow Forecasts Skilled in managing Month End Close procedures Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills Excellent leadership and team management abilities High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Superior written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulationsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
