CCCC is hiring a Cook!

Under the supervision of the Health/Nutrition Program Manager, the Cook is responsible for implementing the Nutrition Component as designed in the Workplans, meeting the requirements of the Performance Standards. High positive regard for staff, parents and children will be demonstrated.

Qualifications: Food handler’s certificate. Experience in volume cooking. Ability to lift 50 pounds and to climb stairs with proper training. Ability to read and write English. Accurate math skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work unsupervised. Know and understand all requirements and regulations concerning the nutrition programs of CCCC programs. Must have reliable transportation and proof of insurance.

Duties include but are not limited to: Cooking meals and snacks following menus, which meet the nutritional requirements of the children, including special diets. Following office procedures and purchasing additional food, staying within the budgeted amount. Maintaining an accurate record keeping system that follows USDA guidelines and accounts for food purchases. Cooking, cleaning and maintaining sanitary conditions in the food preparation and storage areas. Supervising kitchen employees and volunteers when applicable. Attend nutritional trainings on a regular basis. Submit/receive orders from vendors. Participate in on-going training.
