Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant based in Seattle, Washington. This role primarily involves accounting functions and use of various accounting software systems. The position is a short term contract role where the selected candidate will work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:

Review and analyze client data, records, and business operations to identify potential tax implications

Prepare and manage all sales tax audits, refunds, and manage state and local audits

Maintain knowledge of current and proposed legislation and regulations in all fifty states regarding sales tax

Assists with tax planning and consulting engagements related to sales tax for significant corporate clients

Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and tax implications of financing techniques

Evaluate tax aspects in light of business strategies and provides solutions based on findings

Work directly with the client and manage the tax engagement team

Manage the client's state tax compliance to ensure accuracy and timeliness

Coordinate tax research and planning; continually assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the client's tax practices

Develop strong relationships with clients to build new business opportunities

Analyze financial reports and ensure taxes are paid properly

Understand industry-specific tax issues and continuously monitor changes in legislation relevant to clients

Prepare and file tax documents and ensure the client is fully compliant with all taxing authorities

Assist clients in tax controversy matters including dispute resolution and settlement negotiations

Work with other team members to ensure efficient and profitable engagements.

Requirements
