In this crucial role you will be at the forefront of innovation, creating relevance and emotional resonance for Microsoft brand at the intersection of culture, design, and technology.As a Creative Director, Brand Expression, you will be responsible for defining and evolving Microsoft’s brand expression at the speed of go-to-market. You will build idea platforms and expression systems based on unique emotive insights and will translate them into unique and memorable designs. You will work across an interdisciplinary community of marketers, strategists, creatives, product designers, managers, and engineers to create brand activations and launch them across a variety of touch points. You will further evolve our brand expression and identity through co-creation and partnerships. As an individual contributor, you will lead and contribute to virtual teams, proactively identifying new opportunities, building, and extending on the ideas of others and creating impact through influence and accountability. By doing this you will create new connections between our audiences and our brand and will launch new experiences that billions of people will love interacting with.You will play a key role establishing thought leadership for design at Microsoft and creating a brand expression editorial pipeline as well as content strategy for Microsoft’s presence on digital screens in New York City, Los Angeles, and Microsoft offices around the world.You will help build our brand at the speed of go-to-market and turn highly aspirational goals into reality through your actions, and inspiring consistent brand expression across the company. By doing this you will create new connections between our brand and our products that billions of people will love interacting with every day.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities  

Create unique brand strategies, positioning and value propositions based on unmet human needs, societal trends, and product proof points.

Articulate compelling insights-based narratives and create visual expressions that resonate and drive brand love.

Collaborate with teams across the company to define, design and launch brand moments campaigns and activations for a variety of brand topics, like Sustainability, Accessibility, Fundamental Rights, Trust, etc.

Design, codify and launch brand elements that resonate with customers and drive brand love.

Build impactful relationships with internal and external stakeholdersand advocate for the value and impact of consistent brand expression.

Evaluate and measure effectiveness of brand expression and campaigns and communicate the results and learnings.

Inspire other creatives, both within and outside the Microsoft Brand Studio, by sharing best practices, insights, and learnings

QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design

OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design

OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

6+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing world-class brand expressions and campaigns.

3+ years of experience understanding of user needs, market trends, and dynamics in the brand, campaigns, and AI space.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 12+ years experience working in product or service design

OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design

OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

6+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.

Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
