Data EngineerLocation : Seattle, WA Data Engineer on Contract to join the Data Engineering and Operations team DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. • Discover, create and manage new datasets by extracting, transforming, combining and loading data from various heterogeneous data sources and build incremental data products while ensuring data integrity, availability and auditability• Data build to be done in a mix of Legacy technologies/platforms like MS SQL Server, Zena scheduler, SSIS, Stored Procedures, etc as well as newer platforms like different AWS Services, Snowflake, ETL tools like Matillion/Glue etc• Build System Appreciation of current Data Integration and platforms.• Be part of Data Operations and engage in day-to-day processes like being oncall, do job monitoring, respond to tickets, do root cause analysis, take quick corrective actions that include fixes, escalation to other teams or individuals etc• Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in Data Operations and implement solutions leveraging automations, process improvements etc.Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and data technologies• Experienced in building ETL pipelines, with structured data and data warehousing• Extensive experience working with SQL.• Experience working with Legacy data platforms such as MS SQL Server as well as Cloud platform and services eg-building data lake in AWS, building Cloud based data warehousing solutions like Snowflake.• Experience in building data pipelines using ETL tools orchestrated by workflow management tools. Exposure to new gen tools like Matillion/Talend/Glue etc is a plus• Coding knowledge in one or more programming languages (eg – Python, Scala, Java etc) and experience working with semi-structured/unstructured data are pluses.• Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, being flexible and scalable in technology/domain and delivering results in a dynamic environment
