As a Data Engineer you will join a dynamic team seeking to answer questions related to IP analysis, valuation, and risk modeling. The questions we answer range from "How many lawsuits will your company have next year?" to "Are the patents you own actually any good?"

We're looking for a Data Engineer who can develop technical solutions to improve access to data and data usage in the intellectual properties space.

Our Data Engineers enjoy the opportunity to: Work on a small data and analytics team that analyzes various data sets and provides useful insights for our consulting team. Tackle problems as a solutionist that can quickly ingest and transform data for developing optimized ML solutions. Use your experiences for ETL, analyzing, and adapt techniques given the available resources and requirements. Collaborate across engineering, consultants and management teams in order to enable analytics features with the goal of delivering insights to consultants. Own different engineering related tasks: Data ingestion, performant data transformations, establishing pipelines, model and analytics selection, and defining metrics.

Be an innovative data engineer, curious, ambitious, creative, and ready to supply ideas for enhanced solutions and services.

Python expertise, data analysis and statistical packages, including Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, SQL Alchemy, Beautiful Soup

Software development skills and curiosity about software design, coding, debugging and validating, with a keen understanding of using available tools.

Experience with data structures and crafting ETL solutions (ability to script for data ingestion and data pipeline activities to support ML tasks efficiently).

Experience in agile software development environment, including integrated use of Git and Jira

Experience with a relational database such as PostgreSQL including data design in a production environment

We are seeking these technical skills & experiences:
  • 2 or more years of software engineering experience in automation and scripting solutions using Python and SQL
  • 2 or more years of distributed/cloud computing experience in AWS or Azure or Google Cloud data services experience
  • 2 or more years collaborative software development experience
  • 1 or more years of experience in data science specialization, including machine learning and statistical data analysis is a plus
  • Experience in Apache Spark, Data Bricks, Hadoop, or other distributed systems is a bonus
  • Interpersonal, analytical, and streamlined communication skills - the ability to communicate complex findings in a simple manner
  • Assoc/Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent work experience. Boot Camp
