DevOps Engineer

The Red Gate Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a government customer in Washington, DC. The role will contribute to the JWICS Modernization initiative through senior-level consultation on strategic decision-making, technical solutions, and program management across multiple project areas including creative services, SharePoint architecture, division management engineering, solutions integration, and program/project management. The DevOps Engineer provides senior-level technical and strategic leadership in the areas of solutions integration, systems architecture, and lifecycle engineering. Serving as a key technical SME, this position supports enterprise IT transformation by integrating complex systems, optimizing infrastructure performance, and ensuring that design and operational decisions.ResponsibilitiesDeliver advanced subject matter expertise in solutions integration engineering, systems design, and technical support across multi-domain IT environments.Provide comprehensive engineering and planning for IT infrastructure, WAN/LAN systems, and enterprise architecture to ensure seamless interoperability and scalability.Execute system integration and architecture activities across all phases of the lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.Lead high-level architectural reviews and recommend improvements to ensure alignment with modernization strategies, security frameworks, and performance goals.Develop and maintain technical baselines and configuration standards to support system reliability, compliance, and future growth.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., cybersecurity, cloud engineering, DevSecOps, and data management) to drive integration efficiency and innovation.Provide expert guidance and operational leadership to ensure technical solutions remain responsive to evolving mission needs and emerging technologies.Serve as the primary SME for enterprise IT integration issues, advising Government and contractor leadership on risk mitigation, modernization options, and technical best practices.Other duties as assigned.
