Employment Specialist - Direct Service Position Supporting People with Disabilities

Primary Job Duties:

- Develop long-term integrated jobs in Skagit County for people with disabilities

- Network with management, hiring staff, and other high-level decision-makers to impart the benefits of supported employment

- Provide 1:1 job coaching services to people with disabilities throughout Skagit County

- Set, implement, and track progress on client goals

- Collaborate effectively with multiple parties in client support network

- Documentation and file maintenance

Schedule: We are hiring a full-time position! Monday-Friday availability required, 40 hours per week. Schedule may vary depending on client need though most work happens during regular business hours. Work will primarily take place at our Skagit County office and in the community within Skagit County.

Compensation: Salary is competitive and depends on qualifications and experience. Pay rates begin at $24.00/hr. with annual pay increases based on individual and organizational performance. Full time benefits include medical, dental and vision, paid time off, paid holidays, long term disability and life insurance, 403B retirement plan, and monthly mileage and cell phone reimbursement.

Required Qualifications:

- Ability and desire to work with people of all abilities

- High school diploma

- Proficiency in MS office applications

- Valid Washington State Driver's License and proof of vehicle liability insurance in the minimum following amounts: $100,000 per person; $300,000 per accident; $100,000 property

- Good driving record

- Ability to complete background investigation, and current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of the onset of employment.

- Due to driving requirements must be at least 21 years old.

Desirable Qualifications:

- One year experience working with individuals with disabilities within employment settings or another comparable field

- Fluent in either American Sign Language or Spanish

- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field (including fields specific to disability services)

- Familiarity with benefits systems such as Social Security, Housing Authority, Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Department of Services for the Blind (DSB), and/or Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS)
