The selected individual will work closely with the global cross-functional team and be responsible for delivering the best performing emissions and OBD compliant engine calibrations for North America and Europe. Get started! Job Functions / Responsibilities
Lead software integration efforts to ensure correct CAN messaging is present for quality integration between the engine and other vehicle systems
Test defects, determine root cause, and provide input for potential resolution and engine software/controls improvements
Coordinate test set-up execution in both vehicle and test cell environment
Lead integration and hardware testing of cooling system components to ensure engine installation requirements are achieved
Interface with engine fan suppliers providing calibration support during initial tuning and integration activities
Lead troubleshooting for system integration defects found during new product testing
Work within a global team to develop test plans to ensure requirement coverage and quality results
Ensure clear communication and documentation of work including updating processes
Stay current on software functionality and product requirements for the PACCAR engine families
Stay technically current with the heavy-duty diesel industry
Maintain positive working relationships with other groups and PACCAR divisions
Qualifications
Minimum five years of relevant work experience required
Experience with CAN communication, knowledge of J1939 CAN protocol preferred
In depth knowledge of modern control strategies and electronics
General knowledge of in-vehicle calibration and data acquisition systems, calibration tools, and engine system integration
General knowledge of OBD and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics preferred
Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to travel up to 15%
