The Systems Administrator - Enterprise Monitoring performs the tasks necessary to analyze, design, configure, author, implement and support our Global Enterprise Monitoring systems, related services, processes, applications, and integrations. This will involve working closely with Information Technology functional and technical areas, process owners and vendors. Tasks will consist of developing detailed designs, execution and troubleshooting of strategic solutions in support of effective monitoring, alerting, escalation, automation, reporting and event correlation. The position includes involvement with resolving application and configuration issues and concerns, providing ongoing analysis of performance, implementation of approved changes, and ensuring continual service improvements in monitoring.

ROLE

Diagrams and documents monitoring system solutions, configurations, and break/fix procedures.Analyzes business requirements and designs comprehensives, cost-effective enterprise level solutions.Performs complex systems design, implementation and integration functions.Assists Engineer/Management with developing long-term Global Enterprise roadmap.Provides specific, relevant reporting to process stakeholders in support of root cause analysis, risk and event mitigation and elimination, and automation.Possesses or develops a strong understanding of and/or industry Information Security policies and practices.Mentors and provides training to Enterprise Monitoring staff, Information Technology functional and support personnel, and business end-users.Supports/maintains Enterprise Monitoring systems and is responsible for daily troubleshooting.Performs cross training across a variety of monitoring tools used within the organization.REQUIRED

Background in Networking and network monitoring protocols and tools.

Experience with design, implementation and support of monitoring tools in a complex, multi-platform environment.

Experience with Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux, SUSE).

Experience with a diverse range of monitoring suites and tools, including, but not limited to: Splunk, HP/Micro Focus (NNMi OBM, Sitescope, BPM), Tivoli ITM, Dynatrace, SCOM, and SAP Solution Manager.

Ability to provide assistance with design, maintenance, and improvements to enterprise level solutions.

Demonstrated ability with programming and scripting languages. Experience with Python, Perl, and Unix Shell Scripting is highly desirable.

Ability to adjust priorities in rapidly changing environments; work well under pressure.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to present complex ideas and designs to a variety of technical or non-technical stakeholders.

Able to provide effective work support off-hours as required, including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

Recommended Experience with industry standard OSs – including, but not limited to: Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux, SUSE), AIX, and Windows.

Experience with monitoring Cisco networks

Experience with Puppet, Git Ansible, and/or Terraform

Proficiency in Agile Development.

Experience with PowerBI or other reporting/dashboarding tools

Demonstrated ability working with various database platforms.

Experience working with Azure Cloud Infrastructure environments.

Experience working with Azure Monitor (Log Analytics / Application Insights / VM Extensions)

Experience with Orchestration Software and monitoring automation improvements.

Knowledge of application performance management and web based technologies.

Understanding of security and vulnerability best practice and design implications.
